A report by 'AS' has turned the transfer market upside down. The paper informed that Atletico Madrid are considering a move for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese is well liked by Cholo Simeone and the Argentine coach has given the green light to his possible arrival at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The truth of the matter is that the Portuguese does not want to continue at Manchester United as he wants to jump ship to another club in order to play Champions League football in the coming campaign.

His representative, Jorge Mendes, has been in charge of offering him to various European clubs such as Bayern and PSG. Atletico have emerged most recently as another option. However, the economic situation of the 'Rojiblanco' is a delicate one and they need to sell before they can buy.

But, the possibility remains and now, Gianluca Simeone, one of Cholo's sons, has added fuel to fire in terms of the rumours. The recently signed Xerez Deportivo player liked a tweet which spoke about the potential signing and reflected his father's opinion on the matter.

It is also worth considering that Jorge Mendes represents Joao Felix, the young Benfica star who joined Atletico in summer 2019. We may be in the midst of one of the most explosive transfers in history.
