Despite being away from the Catalan capital, Pau Victor has not forgotten Barcelona. The forward, who left for Portugal this summer to sign for Sporting Braga, recalled last season in which he won the league, cup and Super Cup and that change of mentality at the end of 2024.

"We had a very good start, then there was a slump. I couldn't say why, and after the day of Atlético de Madrid, before going on Christmas holidays. In that match we lost unfairly and I think the team clicked and said: 'damn, if we play like this, no one will be able to beat us'. I remember my first title, the Super Cup, and the way we won it. It was the first trophy and against Real Madrid. It was an incredible day. And the Copa del Rey, which was much the same," he said.

"We had a lot of fun training and the feeling was a very strong feeling of going to a match knowing you were going to win. It was something that I don't know if I'll ever experience again. We went to a match to play against the vast majority of teams knowing that you would win the match, it was very strong," he added.

Lamine Yamal was the most outstanding figure. Pau Victor was full of praise for his former team-mate: "Incredible. The day he wanted to win a short match, win some finishes, you couldn't do anything. It was a case of sitting and watching, because when he received the ball, if he wanted to get past four players, he would and he'd slot it in. He's different from the rest".

Precisely, the number '10' for Barcelona has been the target of all the criticism for his busy personal life. "The good thing about Lamine Yamal is that he doesn't pay much attention to criticism. He focuses on himself. And if they tell him not to do something, he might do it more so that they tell him more things. I don't think it affects him. People will want to destabilise him because, well, it's one of the ways they can try to stop him. And I think he does very well not to listen because, in the end, as he's giving performance to football, let him do what he wants outside," said the current Braga forward.

Finally, Pau Victor assured that the friendly in the United States against Real Madrid (August 2024) was a turning point for him. "When in pre-season I scored two goals against Real Madrid, that changed my life a bit. It was the first day I thought, 'what am I doing?'," he concluded.
